Murphy’s Law in full effect!
I’m headed out of town on Friday morning. In preparation I’m trying to get my house perfectly clean and most of my school work done so I have nothing to worry about while I’m gone. I decided to take care of the laundry today since the Sears repair guy was coming by the house and I didn’t want to be out of the house and miss him anyway.
Of course, this morning my son gets up and tells me he wet the bed. Did I mention that on Monday I laundered both kids beds? I’m talking pillow cases, pillow covers, mattress covers, sheets, comforters…the whole deal. So, of course all that work would be countered one night later by a leaky Pull-Up.
So my first load of laundry is his bed clothes. The second? My daughter’s shirt that she wore to school yesterday. A boy ran into her and planted her plate of spaghetti into her white “Chicago” t-shirt. She cried (it’s one of her faves b/c that’s where we’re going on Friday) and called me from the nurse’s office. I brought her a new outfit and set the shirt to soak overnight.
As soon as the spaghetti shirt is done spinning, my son tells me that the water in the bathroom isn’t working. Turns out a water line on my street broke. I made a call and was told that it would be fixed soon. Meanwhile, I still have two bathrooms to clean, including a tub in need of a scrub, and I haven’t even started doing the ACTUAL laundry. Oy vey!
Just one of those days.
