Caffeine, Yes Please!

I’m watching CNN Morning Express and they are discussing the fact that moms are hitting the bean hard. Evidently, us working moms are the major consumers of coffee, their statistics stated 65% of moms use caffeine daily.

I can believe it. My kids don’t nap, but if I don’t have coffee, tea, or a Rock Star energy drink, I’ll have to fight sleep come 2pm. People always comment on the amount of energy my son has. If I didn’t have a hit of caffeine once a day, he’d be swinging from trees and running wild like a mini Tarzan.

They said to avoid detrimental side effects of too much caffeine, we moms should get at least 8 hours a sleep so we won’t need coffee. Easier said than done. If I want my house in any kind of order, it has to happen after my mess-makers are in bed. I’d have around an hour of alone time with my husband before one of us crashed…and my kids don’t sleep in.

I get my eight hours, but I’m not going to quit the bean any time soon, at least not until they’re both in school seven hours a day.
